So much goes into video production, from lighting to sound to camera and editing, but any of those tasks in and of themselves present their own challenges and craft. One of our recent finds is the YouTube channel, Lessons From the Screenplay. These videos break down the art, technique, and – most of all – value of story. More importantly, each video demonstrates how key the development stage is, and how the script is the blueprint for everything that follows.
Though we have an affinity for film production here at DUO (Star Wipe Films, anyone?) we also see the value of these lessons in our commercial video production as well. Every video has a message, a story to tell, and it benefits the end result to approach your video, your story, with a finely-tuned eye to the script, outline, treatment, or whatever planning tool(s) your project needs.
