A promotional piece for SOLIDWORKS PCB sent us out west to Double Robotics:
“[The] creator of Double, the world’s leading telepresence robot … Double helps telecommuters feel more connected to their colleagues by giving them a physical presence where they can’t be in person, whether it’s the office, classroom, or conference.”
Nearly every trip and project offers a unique learning experience for us at DUO, due to the wide range of industries for which we produce videos, but in this particular case, we got a sneak peek at a startup company that’s really on the cutting edge of technology, combined with genuine humanitarian interest.
“Double is being used in higher education in many ways, including building hybrid classrooms with both online and in-person students, to enable professors to continue teaching when they move out of state, and even in library services for giving remote tours and showcasing innovative technology.”
According to Marc DeVidts (CEO and Co-Founder), Double is being used by “doctors visiting patients, offices connecting together, real estate agents,” among many others for various circumstances. It showed us just how much we really are living in the twenty-first century!
Overall, it was a cool, fun shoot for which we thoroughly enjoyed getting to travel west…even if it meant getting delayed in Las Vegas on the return trip, due to early snow in Maryland).
